Our Congregation
We started as a group of believers who saw a need in the county for a church that believed in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as seen in the bible. We want to conform ourselves to that truth, not try to conform the truth to fit our whims. We believe that God's people desire to know him, and we cannot know him unless we get to know Jesus through the bible.
Our Purpose
To teach the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Calvert County, bringing them into fellowship with God and membership into his family, maturing them in the knowledge of God’s word , and equipping them for their good works and ministries in order to exalt and magnify God’s name.
Our Faith
Calvert County Church of Christ believes
1) The Bible is the inspired word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16,17
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2) That Jesus Christ is God’s son, sent as a sacrifice for our sins.
Ephesians 5:1,2
“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
3) That we are baptized for the remission of our sins.
Romans 6:4 NIV
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
4) God does not want anyone to perish.
2 Peter 3:9 NIV
“… Not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
5) We are saved by God’s grace, not by our works.
Ephesians 2:4,5 NIV
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”
6) God has given each one of us talents and gifts to be used for his service.
James 2:18 NIV
“But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.”
